EMSA Kicks Hunger Campaign 2026
October 30, 2026

The Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the fourth annual “EMSA Kicks Hunger Campaign” commencing November 1, 2026 and running until November 30, 2026.

We all know that the rising cost of food and housing has placed a significant financial strain on many families across our area.  Did you know that 9% of London’s population relies on food assistance from the London Food Bank.  In fact, an average of 5610 households, amounting to 16,604 individuals, per month received emergency food directly from the London Food Bank and its satellite locations.  Food insecurity has an effect on the physical, mental and social health of a family and everyone in our community should have access to a nutritious and adequate diet.

In 2023 you helped us collect 250 Lbs of food and a $500.00 donation.  With your help again in 2024 we were able to collect 727 lbs of food and a $950.00 donation.  In 2025, you contributed 648 lbs of non-perishable food items and $1,000.00.  As a part of this community, we know that we can assist our local food bank again this year as they navigate the increased demand for their services.  If you are able to donate, we ask that you please drop off non-perishable food items to the BMO Centre, to assist with our campaign.

Below is a list of some of the non-perishable food categories that are most needed by the Food Bank:

  • Canned vegetables & fruit (no sugar added)
  • Canned tomatoes (no salt added)
  • Canned tuna and salmon
  • Peanut butter
  • Special-diet foods (gluten-free, lactose-free, etc.)
  • Dried vegetables (lentils, chick peas, legumes, etc.)
  • Healthy breakfast cereals

Donations can be dropped off to the Donation Boxes which will be located at the BMO Centre outside of field 5 and upstairs outside of the EMSA Office, commencing November 1, 2026 and running until November 30, 2026.  On December 1, 2026, all donations will be delivered to the London Food Bank.  We will then notify you of the total collected for our 2026 Campaign.

We thank you in advance for supporting our community and this important initiative.
