EMSA District Referee Coordinator

EMSA is excited to announce Carlos Miranda as the new District Referee Coordinator, with Matthew Hartman and Kayla Marcoux in supporting roles. This new collaborative approach aims to further enhance the professionalism, retention, and recruitment of Match Officials in our district. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Matt McCready for his dedicated service as District Referee Coordinator over the past 9 years. His contributions have been invaluable to the growth of the program. We wish Matt well on all his future endeavours.

About Carlos: With a lifelong passion for soccer, Carlos’ experience spans playing, coaching, managing and refereeing at a high level. In 2006, Carlos transitioned to exclusively refereeing and has been very active as a match official in the London and surrounding areas. In the past, Carlos has also volunteered as a league referee coordinator and as a member of the former EMSA Referee Committee. Carlos looks forward to bringing his dedication, leadership and experience to this role.

About Matt: Matt is a highly motivated and accomplished match official. He is a Provincial Referee, has refereed League1, OUA/OCAA, national tournaments and so much more. Matt has helped recruit and support new Match Officials. He is passionate about building a match Official development team, sharing his knowledge with the next generation, working with clubs to increase club-based match officials and bringing new ideas to this role.

About Kayla: Kayla is passionate about soccer, and it shows in her resume of volunteerism. Whether as a player, administrator, coach or Match Official, Kayla is dedicated, enthusiastic and highly organized. Kayla stepped into the Match Official role in 2021 and is grade 6 certified. She brings a unique perspective to this group that will assist with the mentorship, recruitment, training and retention of match officials.
